Pierce County Human Services is offering a portable air conditioner at no cost to you if you meet these eligibility requirements:
- PCHS's records must show that your household received LIHEAP (not SHEAP) benefits during this current program year (10/1/2025 - 7/31/2026) from PCHS and you must still live in Pierce County outside the city limits of Tacoma.
- PCHS's records must show your household has not received a portable air conditioner in the past 7 years from the Pierce County Energy Assistance Cooling Program
- Sign a liability waiver form submitted with your application. This does not guarantee eligibility.
